Prerequisites
- You are the owner of the custom hierarchy - Ownership is indicated by a key symbol next to the hierarchy name in the 1010data web interface
- 1010data Excel Add-In is installed: Download the 1010data Excel Add-In
- You have a copy of the Excel custom hierarchy template last used to upload the custom hierarchy
Procedure
1. Open the spreadsheet for your custom hierarchy and make the amendments required in the Table Data section
2. Make the appropriate selection under Replace or Append? (usually cell B7)
Type either the word replace or append in this cell
replace - The uploaded table will replace any table with the same name (path). When the existing hierarchy has been modified, replace is selected to replace the entire table with the new table in the spreadsheet
append - The contents of the upload will be appended to the end of a table with the same name (path), if it already exists. To simply add rows of data without changing the existing custom hierarchy, append can be used
If you leave this option blank, the attempt to upload a table with the same name (path) will fail
3. From the ADD-INS tab, select 1010data > 1010data Login... and log in with your 1010data username and password
4. Once logged in, select the ADD-INS tab again, and select 1010data > Upload Data > Upload Active U-Sheet
You will receive a message showing the progress of the upload
5. Once the upload has completed, review the Upload Status (usually in cell B9) to confirm that the upload was successful
6. From the ADD-INS tab, select 1010data > Logout username to log out of your session
7. To check your updated hierarchy, log into https://www2.1010data.com (or your company's 1010data URL) and open Custom Table Manager from the Applications menu
8. Navigate to the hierarchy by type under Custom Hierarchies, and click Edit to view and/or edit the custom hierarchy
Note: You can use the Custom Table Manager to make edits directly into the hierarchy, rather than uploading a table again through the Excel Add-In. For more information, please see: Edit a Custom Hierarchy Using Custom Table Manager
